Not too long ago I was on the phone with some of the individuals who are doing some training with me and one of them asked me a question about "selling" prospects on joining your M.l.M company. My answer was one that I realized needed to be shared with everyonein our industry because the truth of the matter is that we all suffer from B.M.S sometimes and it absolutely hurts our success So, what's B.M.S. Well, it's short for Big Mouth Syndrome and people who suffer from BMS often suffer from symptoms such as: Talking a prospect to death as opposed to asking questions and letting the prospect talk AND Not being quite while on a 3-way. Now I'm not going to get into the fact that I'm not a proponent of cold-calling leads and stuff like that. You probably know that I am against more "traditional" ways of network marketing; but nevertheless, real relationships are built on the phone. And sometimes in order for someone to decide to join your business, they will need to hear the voice of another human being. Ideally the person you are speaking with has already gone through some sort of "pre-qualification" so that you're talking to a hot lead (preferably one that you've generated yourself). The only thing that's standing in the way of them joining your business is a 5 minute phone call with YOU. So here are a few tips to remember 1. Ask a lot of questions - and then BE QUIET! 2. Let your prospect do most of the talking 3. Ask questions that have nothing to do with joining your company - such as: What are your goals? or Tell me about your family. 4. Don't try to "sell" your opportunity Hopefully your company has a system in place to do the selling for you. 5. Just be real - talk to people like your talking to your friends, people appreciate honesty If you suffer from BMS, then you’ve probably lost a few extra really good people in your downline. But no worries, BMS is totally curable if you just remember the 5 tips I just shared with you ;-)
